MY STORY

After being let down by realtors my family trusted, I made a vow to myself: I would become the kind of realtor I wished my family had.

Edmonton is more than where I live—it’s where my life began to take shape. More than 25 years ago, I immigrated to Canada with my parents in search of a better future. Edmonton became our home. It welcomed us, challenged us, and ultimately shaped who I am today. Now, as a father to a spirited 6-year-old daughter, this city continues to be the place where I dream, build, and grow—for both my family and my future.

Real estate has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. In my early years, I helped acquire and manage my family’s rental properties, learning the business from the inside out. But my journey was far from smooth. I made costly mistakes—bad investments that set my family back for years and resulted in over $100,000 in losses. Those experiences were painful, humbling, and life-changing—but they also gave me clarity.

My family was let down by realtors—people we trusted but who failed to protect our interests. In that disappointment, I made a promise to myself: if I ever became a realtor, I would be different. That promise became my mission and my life’s purpose.

I entered real estate not to sell, but to serve—to educate and protect buyers and investors, to help them avoid costly pitfalls, and to guide them toward decisions that truly make sense long-term. Every recommendation I make is rooted in real experience, data, and one simple question: Is this genuinely in my client’s best interest?

For the past 8 years, I’ve carried that promise forward as a realtor. My approach is grounded in one simple principle: honesty.

"We were looking to sell our condo and reached out to Martin upon a recommendation from a friend, and boy are we glad we did! There were a number of factors that impressed us in our interactions with him which we believe led to the successful sale of our condo. Expertise We had a challenging situation as there were talks of a possible increase in condo fees for the complex. Martin's professionalism really shone through as this was particularly difficult to navigate. In spite of this, we received multiple showings and offers. Martin worked hard in landing us the best offer we could have and we accepted an offer within 10 days of listing. "I am a newcomer and didn’t know anything about how to buy a house, what the area means, or the most important factors when buying a house. Before I met Martin, I was just searching house notes on Realtor.ca. But what made me feel special was that he could tell me so much information about each house. For example, he would point out if a house was too close to a main road and could be noisy, or if it was near strong electric lines, which are bad for your health. He also explained that if a house was built in the 1950s or 1960s, it would likely need a lot of work and cost a lot to fix. What made me feel even better about working with Martin was when a new listing near Century Park came up. That was my first choice because it’s close to the LRT, and I have two kids who need to go to school by themselves. I was ready to make an offer or even offer a higher price. But Martin didn’t push me to finish the deal; instead, he told me it wasn’t worth offering higher and suggested waiting for a better listing. "I can't recommend Martin enough. All my family members and close friends will be getting his service, period! I've only bought houses with Martin so far, so this review is only about my experience of buying home with him. I am sure he is just as competent when it comes to selling as well. I will make some updates to this review when we sell our existing home in the Spring. This is our second time getting help from Martin for buying a home. From the start, he took the time to really listen to what we were looking for in a home and respected our priorities throughout the entire process. We were mainly looking for houses that were 'good deals' in a selected list of neighbourhoods (ex. most sq. footage for the price, etc.) and there were so many hidden details that we would not have even recognized or considered if it wasn't for Martin. He makes sure that we consider all the things he sees as important, but still leaves the final decision to us. Sometimes, when we were leaning into purchasing a house with red flags in his eyes, he just bluntly says "No", which we highly appreciated. He really puts himself in our shoes, and wants us to make the best purchase as if it was his own purchase. His in-depth knowledge of the Edmonton housing market is superb, which is probably what helps him to have a very impressive negotiation skills. He was able to bring the price of a house listed at $640k down to $615k, which we honestly didn’t think was possible. I think he just knows what the lowest-fair price of the house is, without lowballing the price. Communication was always seamless—he was so easy to reach, and while he may come across as calm and reserved in person, don’t be fooled - his written communication is where he really shines. He really takes the time to do some research and digging before presenting them to you. If you want a realtor who is knowledgeable, responsive, and truly advocates for your best interests, Martin is the one to go with! I truly wish him all the best and success, but at the same time I am worried that he may becomes too well-known and busy as we'd always want him as our personal, go-to, realtor. That's how good I think Martin is!"

"I recently purchased a house with Martin's help, and my experience with Martin has been really great. I have had a few other realtors previously when selling and buying a property, and compared to my previous experience, I can confidently say the way Martin does his business is different from the most of the realtors. He wants you to find the right home, well that's what all realtors say, but he does actually act and show. he does a lot of analysis and study on the property of client's interest and explains pros and cons, if there is any maintenance due soon and stuff. You will see there are well-known realtor names, but if you have not decided which realtor you want to work with, at least meet and have a cup of coffee with Martin and you will feel it already.
